UK TRIALS MASS CORONAVIRUS TESTING

The UK government's announced plans for mass-testing for coronavirus which it says could be a 'huge step forward' in returning life to normal.

It's announced £500m in funding for trials of no-swab saliva tests, as well as 20 minute testing.

If successful, it could see regular mass testing rolled out to offices, stations, town centres and other busy locations.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock says it's hoped it could lead to a huge expansion in testing during the winter in Britain.
