AUSTRALIA SUSPENDS HK EXTRADITION AGREEMENT

Australia has suspended its extradition treaty with Hong Kong.

It's in response to China's decision to impose a national security law for the territory, which pro-democracy campaigners say is designed to target them.

Beijing insists it's to help bring order to Hong Kong after months of sometimes violent protests.

Australia's prime minister Scott Morrison is also allowing those from Hong Kong to stay in his country for longer.
