U.S. consumer spending tumbles record 13.6%

Consumer spending in the United States has dropped by a record 13.6%
as the COVID-19 pandemic has kept stores and businesses closed.

It's further evidence the US is experiencing the worst economic
downturn in decades as people are unable to unwilling to spend.
