UK government told to lower immigration salary threshold

The British government has been advised to drop the salary threshold for immigrants coming into the UK after Brexit.

Skilled migrants from outside the European Union currently need to have a job offer with a minimum salary of £30,000, the equivalent of almost $40,000.

But the Migration Advisory Committee says that should fall by more than £4,000 in order to help recruit teachers and skilled medical staff.

Benji Hyer has this report.
