UK government calls for de-escalation following US air strike which killed Iranian General Qasem Soleimani

The UK government is urging "all parties to de-escalate" after the killing of Qasem Soleimani (Pron: Kassem Solay-Mah-Nee) in a US air strike ordered by US President Donald Trump on Friday.

The 62-year-old Major General was the architect of Iran's intelligence and military operations abroad. He was considered one of the country's most powerful figures before the strike on his convoy at Baghdad airport.

Benji Hyer has more on the reaction from Britain.
