Four drug companies have reached a last-minute settlement over their role in the opioid epidemic hours before opening arguments were meant to start in the American state of Ohio. The $260 million deal freezes what would have been the first federal trail over the crisis, but does not resolve the more than 2,600 other lawsuits filed across the United States.
