California’s largest power company has filed for bankruptcy

California's largest power company, Pacific Gas and Electric, has filed for bankruptcy.

This comes as PG&E faces a raft of lawsuits related to two seasons of deadly wildfires which were caused at least in part by failings in PG&E infrastructure.
The private utility firm has lost 80% of its value over the past two years and its credit has been downgraded to junk status.
