U.S. government shutdown to last through Christmas

A partial shutdown of the U.S. government which began at midnight on
Friday will continue through the Christmas holiday.

The Senate has adjourned until Thursday as lawmakers remain divided
over whether to allocate $5 bn. for President Trump's border wall.

And a Trump aide warns the government could stay closed into the new year.

This shutdown is expected to leave hundreds of thousands of people unpaid.

William Denselow reports from New York.
