An attempt from the UK government to win over MPs opposed to Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit deal, appears to have made little impact.
A proposed amendment, understood to have Downing Street backing, which would have given UK lawmakers more of a say over the controversial Northern Ireland backstop, has not won widespread support.
Which, as UK correspondent Olly Barratt reports, means Theresa May still looks set to lose a parliamentary vote on her deal on Tuesday.
