Fed Chair's rosy outlook on U.S. economy spooks investors

The newly appointed Chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve has played down
recent market volatility and says the economy remains on solid ground.

In comments to the House Financial Services Committee Jerome Powell
says the U.S. labour market is robust and wages are rising.

But his comments also spooked Wall Street on Tuesday.
