Two parents accused of torturing their children at their home in California have pleaded not guilty.
David and Louise Turpin appeared in court after prosecutors detailed charges of torture, abuse and imprisonment against them.
It's claimed they chained their children to their beds, only allowed them one shower a year, and that the children lacked a 'basic knowledge of life'.
District Attorney Mike Hestrin says the 13 siblings are in poor physical condition.
