According to a statement from the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, US President Donald Trump is moving the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
A host of nations from the Middle East including Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia have expressed deep concerns about the repercussions of a potential move.
But as our Washington correspondent Giles Gibson reports, there's been no confirmation from the White House about a telephone call between the two leaders:
