THERESA MAY: EU SHOULD MOVE ONTO TRADE TALKS SOON

UK Prime Minister Theresa May is urging EU negotiators to move quickly onto trade talks with Britain as it prepares to leave the bloc.

The UK wants to start trade discussions as soon as next month but the EU says several key issues need to be settled first.

The latest round of negotiations in Brussels ended without significant progress - and with notable differences on the so-called 'divorce bill' that Britain will pay.

But Theresa May says it will benefit the EU to press ahead with talks on future trading arrangements.
