Compromise needed to deal with DACA recipients - Speaker Ryan

Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives is cautiously optimistic the U.S. Congress can find a legislative solution for the DACA recipients.

DACA - deferred action for childhood arrivals - allowed the children of undocumented adults to obtain work and study permits, a program the Trump administration rescinded.

Speaker Ryan wants to find a solution for these young people, but says the original program was not constitutional.

The DREAM Act - Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act - attempts to address the status of children who came to the United States, through no fault of their own, when their parents entered the country without proper immigration documents.

An estimated 11 million people live in the U.S. without legal migration papers.

Leader of the Senate Democrats Chuck Schumer wants to fix this problem now.
