UK researchers warn about growing cases of blindness around the world

Researchers in the UK predict the number of people who are blind or suffer vision impairment around the world will triple within the next forty years, with countries in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa most affected.

They say a growing and aging population will mean the number of people who will lose their sight could rise from 36 million to 115 million by 2050 if treatment is not improved.   From London, Catherine Drew reports.
