"Make it happen" - calls to counter injustice at memorial service

The mother of Heather Heyer - the young woman killed when a car slammed into a group of counter-protestors in Charlottesville, Virginia - is urging Americans to speak up about injustice, just as her daughter would have.

In a rare critical statement from former presidents, the Bushes have said that America must always reject racial bigotry.

Politicians and analysts have noted that it appears President Trump is somehow trying to normalize or legitimize the grievances of the neo-nazis, neo-Confederates, and white supremacists.

Susan Bro, the mother of Heather Heyer, wants her daughter's legacy of standing up and participating peacefully but pointedly,  to live on.
