UN: Jerusalem facing “vortex of violence”

The United Nations has warned Jerusalem is facing a "vortex of
violence" amid escalating tensions between Israelis and Palestinians.

It comes as the Israeli government confirms it is removing metal
detectors from a holy site, which had previously angered Muslim
worshipers.
