Teenage robotics students from Afghanistan compete in Washington despite visa issue

A team of teenage robotic students from Afghanistan whose US visas had been denied, are competing in an international event in Washington DC today (Monday) after President Trump intervened to grant them passage to the United States.

As of last week the girls' dream of traveling to what has been billed as the "Olympics of Robotics" had looked to be over despite two trips from their home in Herat to Kabul for interviews with U.S. State Department officials.
