Pressure is growing on UK Prime Minister Theresa May to signal an easing to austerity by ending a cap on public sector pay.
Pay rises for five million public sector workers have been effectively frozen at 1% since 2013.
But cabinet ministers including Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson are now urging the Prime Minister and Chancellor Philip Hammond to boost pay for workers in the public sector.
