The White House says U.S. President Donald Trump remains disappointed in Jeff Sessions but there is no plan to fire him.
Jeff Sessions told reporters he will serve as U.S. Attorney General as long as it is appropriate.
Earlier, President Trump told the New York Times, he would have picked someone else, if he'd known Jeff Sessions would recuse himself from overseeing the investigation into Russian meddling in American politics.
White House deputy spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders says all cabinet members serve at the will of the president.
