OJ Simpson out on parole in October

Former NFL star and one-time celebrity OJ Simpson will be released from a Nevada prison in October, after serving almost 9 years of a 33 year sentence for armed robbery.

In 1994, his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman were stabbed to death in Los Angeles, a murder case in which he was the lead suspect but at trial, OJ Simpson was acquitted in a case that transfixed America.

Now, his defense attorney Malcolm LaVergne admits, keeping the more than 20-year-old murder case out of the Nevada courtroom was a major achievement.
