US Attorney General Sessions offered to resign from his post

INTRO:

US Attorney General Jeff Sessions recently offered to resign from his
post, according to US media reports.

President Trump is reported to have refused his offer, but the
exchange shows growing tension with Mr Sessions, who has already
recused himself from overseeing the Department of Justice's
investigation into Russia's election interference.
