The US State Department is denying there's a problem over the appointment of ambassadors and other senior officials around the world.
President Donald Trump in a tweet has blamed the Democrats for allegedly slowing down the appointment of government officials at home and overseas.
But new State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert has told reporters there's no major recruitment problem. She says there's a strong group of people going through the hiring pipeline, but the process is slow because of the background checks required.
