Amid strained ties, Modi-Xi meet at sidelines of SCO summit

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. This was the first meeting between the two leaders in eight months.

The meeting comes amid tensions between the two countries over China's One Belt One Road initiative. India has boycotted the project on the grounds that it runs through Pakistan Occupied Kashmir- a region India claims as its sovereign territory.
