Trump: US 'Will Act Unilaterally' on North Korea if Necessary

President Donald Trump has issued an ultimatum to Beijing - deal with North Korea, or Washington will take unilateral action.

Speaking to the Financial Times newspaper, he said if Beijing is not going to solve the North Korean crisis, the US would do so, but wasn't forthcoming on what such action might look like and whether it would involve a military option.

The warning comes just days before President Trump meets Chinese President Xi Trump, for their first face to face meeting on Thursday in Florida.

Former Defence Secretary Ashton Carter told ABC's 'This Week' that any pre-emptive strike on North Korea's nuclear arsenal would be likely to be extremely violent:

IN: I think we…
OUT: ...defeat of North Korea
DUR: 27 seconds
