LONDON INTRODUCES EXTRA TERROR PATROLS

Extra anti-terrorism police patrols are taking to the streets of London.

The Metropolitan Police is deploying undercover as well as uniformed officers, to try and spot people who might be carrying out 'hostile reconnaissance' for potential attacks.

Operation Servator will also involve heavily armed police units.

Police say the extra deployment follows recent terror attacks in Europe but is not in response to any specific threat.

Reporter Charlotte Wright says some of the officers will be the so-called 'robocops' being introduced to the London force.
