Turkey has detained Lindsey Snell for alledgedly violating a war zone and attempting to cross into Syria.
According to her social media profiles, she works for Vocativ, a website which claims it uses technology to find stories in the deep web.
U.S. State Department spokesman John Kirby confirmed they are aware of the charges laid against her.
