UK MOD INVESTIGATES AFGHAN WAR CRIME CLAIMS

Britain's Ministry of Defence is investigating new claims of historic allegations of war crimes by UK troops in Afghanistan.

The inquiry into Afghanistan, Operation Northmoor, has had its staffing and funding boosted as it looks into the allegations.

One claim reportedly involves the detention of a Taliban bombmaker for 106 days in 2010.

Some UK MPs are criticising the possible prosecution of soldiers by what they call 'parasitic lawyers'.

UK reporter Charles Rowe has more.
