UK: ABUSE INQUIRY TO CONTINUE 'WITHOUT DELAY'

The UK government says Britain's inquiry into child sexual abuse will press ahead 'without delay' despite the resignation of its chair Dame Lowell Goddard.

The New Zealand High Court judge has stepped down after UK media reports that she'd spent over 70 days working abroad or on holiday during her tenure.

The inquiry was launched in 2015 to look into child abuse claims made against private and public institutions.

Tom McTague from Politico says replacing Dame Lowell Goddard will be difficult.
