UN Security Council Holds Straw Poll To Choose Next Secretary General

The UN Security Council is holding a so-called 'straw poll' this Thursday, as part of the process of choosing the organisation's next Secretary General before Ban Ki Moon's term finishes at the end of this year.

There are 12 candidates for the post so far, but the results of the informal poll, which is held behind closed doors, won't be made public.
