UN aid to Syria in coming hours

The United Nations hopes to deliver aid to besieged parts of Syria in the coming hours, following an agreement to temporarily stop fighting next week.

The UN has been meeting to arrange the delivery of supplies to areas that have been made inaccessible by conflict.

However, Syria's President Bashar al-Assad has said he is determined to continue fighting to win back "the whole country".

UN Spokesman Stephane Dujarric said the UN hoped to gain access as soon as possible.
