German prosecutors to investigate Audi

German prosecutors have opened a preliminary investigation into the
carmaker Audi in the latest fallout from the Volkswagen emissions
scandal.

The VW subsidiary has said over two million of its vehicles were
equipped with software designed to cheat emissions tests.
