Los Angeles to Enact Seismic Standards for New Cell Phone Towers

Los Angeles is taking steps to enact seismic standards for new cell phone towers — the first city in the United States to do so..

It’s part of a new effort to strengthen communications infrastructure in preparation for the next big earthquake. 


As Rachel Silverman reports, California hasn’t  experienced a major earthquake since cellphones,smartphones, and wifi became ubiquitous.
