Cameron returns to Downing Street, appoints Cabinet

In Britain, Prime Minister David Cameron has been appointing his  Cabinet after a shock election victory that handed his Conservative party a small majority in the House of Commons.

The results saw three major party heads resign in the wake of their losses.  Ed Miliband stepped down from the Labour leadership, Nick Clegg will no longer lead the much-depleted Liberal Democrats and Nigel Farage has quit as head of the anti-immigration, anti-Europe UK Independence Party.

On returning to Downing Street, David Cameron said he would work for the interests of the whole country.

Some analysts believe the shock result is down to a phenomena they call "Shy Tories," Tory being another word for Conservatives. Paul Osbourne is a political analyst.
