AMNESTY CALLS FOR UN VETO TO BE DROPPED

Rights charity Amnesty International says the five permanent members of the UN Security Council should give up their veto powers in cases where atrocities are being committed.

The UK-based charity's annual report is fiercely critical of the global response to a series of crises in 2014.
