US senator John McCain, a former prisoner of war who was himself tortured during the Vietnam conflict, threw his full support behind the release of the Senate's report into the CIA's so-called enhanced interrogation and detention program.
Mr McCain said the American people had a right to know what the Agency had carried out in their name.
