A British spy chief says US tech companies like Facebook and Twitter have been 'transformational' for extremist groups, and must do more to co-operate with intelligence agencies.
The new head of Britain's GCHQ intelligence agency Robert Hannigan says some tech firms are being used as 'command and control networks' by groups like the Islamic State.
And he argues in a newspaper article that 'privacy has never been an absolute right.
