Pistorius lawyers oppose state appeal

INTRO:  Lawyers acting for convicted paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius have filed court documents opposing the State's attempt to appeal the culpable homicide (manslaughter) verdict handed to the athlete. The judge ruled the State did not prove that Pistorius intentionally killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp when he shot her in a locked toilet at his home in February last years. Pistorius was sentenced to five years in jail last month. Gary Alfonso reports ...
