U.S. President Barack Obama quickly appointed Joseph Clancy as the acting director of the U.S. Secret Service after Julia Pierson resigned.
Ms. Pierson resigned after additional revelations of violations of basic security protocols were revealed, including a man with felony convictions and carrying a gun rode in an elevator with the President.
