US airstrikes make for strange partners

The Obama administration is confirming it has conducted airstrikes to help the people of Amirli in northwestern Iraq fight off militants from the Islamic State.

The American actions from the sky have an unusual partner on the ground - Iranian backed militias trying to help the Shi'a Turkoman of Amirli - who believe in a similar strain of Islam as the Iranians.
