Obama: 'We Will Degrade And Ultimately Destroy ISIL'

Barack Obama has said he won't hesitate to take action, including air strikes, against Islamic State militants in Syria as well as Iraq.

Speaking in a nationally televised address, the US President said there would be no safe haven for any group that threatened America, and announced that 475 new military personnel would be sent to Iraq - but stressed they would be there to advise and train local forces, not to take part in combat.
