Blair: Ground troops against IS cannot be ruled out

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has said that sending in ground troops to fight Islamic State militants should not be ruled out.

Mr Blair said that air strikes are not enough to defeat the extremists, but added that local forces could play a role, acknowledging there is "no appetite for ground engagement in the West".

This comes amidst accusations in the UK that the government is not doing enough to secure the release of British aid worker Alan Henning, who is being held hostage by the militant group.
