SIBERIAN COAL MINE INCIDENT LEAVES 11 DEAD

Russia's President Putin has expressed his condolences to the victims of a coal mining incident that took place in Siberia on Thursday.

At least 11 miners have died, 49 were injured, and the fate of 35 more is unknown — after a fire broke out 250 metres underground.

Rescuers have had to postpone operations fearing an explosion.

27 people have died after the inflatable craft they were using to try to cross the English Channel sank.

Japan and Vietnam express “serious concerns” over South China Sea

Three white Americans found guilty of killing black jogger

Three white American men who chased down and killed black jogger
Ahmaud Arbery have been found guilty of his murder.

His killing, that was filmed by one of the defendants on a mobile
phone, was described as a modern-day lynching.

Multiple migrants die after attempting to cross the English Channel


More than 20 migrants attempting to cross the English Channel from France have died.


French authorities say they attempted the crossing in an inflatable dinghy that capsized outside of Calais on Wednesday.


Several others have been reported injured or missing.

Russia’s President Putin gets nasal Covid-19 vaccination

WHO warns Europe and Central Asia could face extra 700,000 deaths

The World Health Organization has warned Europe and Central Asia could face another 700,000 COVID-19 deaths by March next year. 

It said deaths due to COVID-19 rose to nearly 4,200 per day last week. 

That marks a doubling of levels recorded at the end of September.
