Indonesia Demands Investigation After Peacekeepers Killed in Lebanon

Indonesia's Ambassador to the United Nations demanded that the global body investigate the deaths of three of its nationals serving as peacekeepers in Lebanon.

The peacekeepers died in two separate incidents, amid increased fighting between Israel and Hezbollah as part of the wider war in the Middle East.

TSA gets back pay but partial government shut down continues

Most of the Transportation Security Administration's 60,000 workers have started receiving back pay under an order President Trump signed on Friday.


TSA employees have been working without pay for more than six weeks since the Department of Homeland Security's funding lapsed over a dispute in immigration enforcement, setting off a partial government shutdown.

Ultimatum For Striking Junior Doctors In UK

The UK Prime Minister's given junior doctors in England an ultimatum, as a long running dispute over pay and conditions continues.

So-called Resident Doctors are planning a six day strike next week, but Sir Keir Starmer's given them 48 hours to call it off and accept the 'above inflation' pay rise that's been offered.

He says he could withdraw thousands of extra training posts if the walkouts go ahead.


The British Medical Association says creating those posts shouldn't be dependent on calling off strikes, but Government Minister James Murray disagrees…

EU to discuss cutting back on oil and gas due to impact of Iran war

EU energy ministers are meeting in Brussels on Tuesday to consider cutting back on oil and gas use due to the war in Iran.

UK New Housing Targets Missed

The UK government will miss their own new house building target by more than a quarter, according to a new report.

The Labour government had pledged to build 1.5 million homes before the next scheduled general election in 2029, but an assessment by Ministry of Housing officials says they're likely to come in around 400 thousand homes short.

The UK is facing a chronic housing shortage, with a lack of supply blamed as one of the reasons for spiralling property costs. The average home is now more than seven and a half times the average income.

The government says the necessary legislation has now been put in place to help boost the number of homes being built… but Steve Turner, Executive Director of the Homebuilders Federation says there are cost issues…
