Gold prices gained on Tuesday on hopes of the Middle East war de-escalating.
But the precious metal is poised for its worst month in more than 17 years as expectations of a US interest rate cut fade.
Spot gold was up 1.25 per cent on Tuesday morning in Asia at $4,569 an ounce.
