UK COMMITS TROOPS TO UKRAINE IF PEACE DEAL REACHED

The UK is committing to sending troops to Ukraine if a peace deal is made with Russia.

London and Paris have both signed a declaration of intent on deploying troops if a peace agreement is reached.

Russia has repeatedly warned against any foreign troops being stationed inside Ukraine.

General Sir Richard Shirreff, former Deputy Supreme Commander of NATO in Europe, says any assembled force would have to be combat ready.

WHITE HOUSE: MILITARY ACTION POSSIBLE OVER GREENLAND

The White House says Donald Trump could use the US military to take control of Greenland.

It says a range of options are being looked at to take control of the island which is a semi-autonomous part of NATO member Denmark.

European leaders have issued a statement insisting that only Greenland and Denmark can decide on the region's future.

Former Republican aide in Washington Don Bramer still believes military action by the US is unlikely.

Zelenskyy Praises European Security Guarantees

Volodymyr Zelenskyy's praised European post-war security guarantees for Ukraine, as 'very concrete'.

In the event of peace with Russia, British and French troops would help Kyiv defend itself from future attack, and train its military.

But the Ukrainian President says other issues in the peace negotiations - including territory - 'remain open'.

Military analyst Matthew Savill says despite the guarantees, an end to the fighting isn't necessarily more likely.

Senior UK Government Minister Warn’s Against Destabilising NATO

A senior UK government minister has said it's not the time to destabilise NATO, amidst repeated threats by US President Trump over Greenland.

The arctic island is one of the three constituent nations of the Kingdom of Denmark, a fellow NATO member.

President Trump has reignited fears over Greenland's future by saying the US needs it for its national security. His comments have been rejected by both Greenland and Denmark's leaders as well as by a number of European nations, with the UK Prime Minister saying that Greenland's future can only be decided by Greenland and Denmark.

Cabinet Minister Wes Streeting emphasised that Greenland is "already part of the team" playing its part in NATO's collective security.
