Hollywood's awards season is underway, with the announcements of this year's  Golden Globes nominations.

Paramount–Skydance launches hostile bid for Warner Bros. Discovery

There has been a major twist in the deal for Netflix to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery's streaming and studios business, with Paramount-Skydance making a hostile bid for the company.

Supreme Court weighs whether President Trump can fire heads of independent agencies

The US Supreme Court is hearing arguments on whether President Donald Trump has the authority to fire a top Federal Trade Commission official - in a case that could have far reaching consequences for independent regulators. FTC commissioner Rebecca Slaughter was ousted earlier this year - told that her service was "inconsistent with the Administration's priorities".  In 1933, the Supreme court ruled unanimously that President Franklin D. Roosevelt couldn't fire an FTC commissioner over ideological differences.

India's IndiGo cancels more flights, leaving more passengers stranded

India's central bank cuts interest rates

India's central bank cut its key interest rate by 25 basis points to 5.25 per cent on Friday.
