International medical charity, Doctors Without Borders has sounded an alarm over the increasing number of cholera cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo. China, US to hold trade talks in Malaysia in coming days

Reuters reports WHO pulls up India over the recent deaths due to toxic cough syrup

Reuters reports that the World Health Organisation has pulled up India over the recent deaths of at least 24 children caused by a toxic cough syrup, saying it has more work to do in halting its sales.
 
The children died after consuming the Coldrif cough syrup made by an Indian pharmaceutical brand - Sresan Pharma - which tests showed contained the toxin diethylene glycol in quantities nearly 500 times the permissible limit.
