South Korea to send plane for workers detained in US raid

INTRO: South Korea plans to send a chartered plane as early as Wednesday to bring back hundreds of workers detained in a US immigration raid, the country's flag carrier Korean Air told the AFP news agency.

The French government has collapsed, throwing crucial budget negotiations into disarray, after the prime minister lost a confidence vote in parliament.

François Bayrou (BA-EE-ROO) will formally hand in his resignation on Tuesday, and President Macron says he will name a new prime minister in the coming days.

NYC mayor Adams denies reports he's dropping reelection bid

New York City Mayor Eric Adams says he has no plans to quit his
re-election campaign.

It comes after reports the head of the US' largest city was being
lured away by a job at the White House.

According to US media, President Trump had asked him to drop out to
bolster former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's campaign - all part of
a plan to defeat Democratic socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani.

Trump re-creates Department of War

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to change the
name of the Department of Defense to the Department of War.

It reverts the Department to the name used during the First and Second
World Wars.

For now it remains a secondary title, until Congress formally approves
the name change.

The US president made the announcement in the White House Oval Office.
