SECRET SERVICE SUSPENDS STAFF OVER BUTLER SHOOTING

The US Secret Service has suspended a number of staff over the attempted assassination of Donald Trump in Pennsylvania last year, labelling it an "operational failure".

Mr Trump's ear was struck by one of the bullets fired toward the stage, while a supporter sitting in the bleachers behind him was killed.

European Commission President survives confidence vote

The European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has survived a

EU seek carveouts in US trade talks

The European Union says a trade agreement in principle could be
reached with the United States in the coming days.

The Trump administration has pushed back the deadline for a deal to be
done to August 1st when baseline tariffs on European goods could leap
from 10 to 50 percent.

But European industries remain unsure how they will be affected.

UK AND FRANCE EXPECTED TO SIGN MIGRATION DEAL

France and the UK are expected to sign a so-called 'one in, one out' deal on migration on Thursday.

It would see some migrants who make small boat crossings sent back to France, while the UK would accept an equivalent number of asylum seekers with connections to Britain.

Trump hosts African leaders at White House


US President Donald Trump is hosting five African leaders at the White House for talks on what the administration describes as as a push to deepen "commercial opportunities" between them and the U.S. 


The presidents of Senegal, Liberia, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, and Gabon are in Washington this week for a three-day mini summit - beginning with lunch at the White House on Wednesday.
